Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz is committed to ensuring digital accessibility to its website and mobile applications. The Berlin Information and Communication Technology Accessibility Act (BIKTG Bln) defines requirements for developers and designers to improve accessibility conformant to BITV 2.0.
This digital accessibility statement applies to www.volksbuehne-berlin.de.
This statement was prepared and last reviewed on 13 May, 2024.
The technical accessibility was tested by the above mentioned public sector body in a self-evaluation procedure.
Our website is not yet fully accessible. The requirements according to BITV 2.0 are fulfilled by approx. one third. We are committed to further improving accessibility and working hard on ensuring equal access for all users of our resources wherever possible.
Non-compliance with regulations / Shortcomings
- The website’s functionality is not fully accessible via keyboard
- Incorrect display of text and control elements
- Incorrect or non-existent structuring/order
These contents are being revised on an ongoing basis and a fix has been put in place with finalisation expected by the end of July 2024. We plan to have the compliance with standards reviewed by the end of 2024.
In Progress
- Providing alternative text content for images and control elements to be read using assistive technologies, e.g. screen reader software.
- Providing our accessibility statement and more information in easy-to-understand language and sign language.
Due to this being edited content and the need for timely implementation, not all of the photos can be provided with alt text given the large number of images on the website. We will focus on content published as from June 2024.
