„One of the nicest things in Berlin is that the Volksbühne hosts the event series Plattenspieler with Thomas Meinecke inviting guests to discuss music in irregular intervals“, Johanna Adorján wrote in the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Two turntables, a camera and a beamer, two mics, one screen, and the stage is set for the event series Plattenspieler. Meinecke and his guest will talk about music, cultural contexts, visual designs, cover art and personal stories about and experiences with the music. There is no prior agreement about the records; host and guest are free to bring along what they choose and play the records live on stage, always eager to hear the other commenting on it.

Meinecke‘s next guest on 21st February will be the visual artist and disc jockey Julian Göthe.
