Anja Huwe, post-punk legend and singer of pioneers Xmal Deutschland, has celebrated a phenomenal international comeback since the release of her solo album CODES in 2024 and the exclusive re-edition of past Xmal Deutschland tracks on Sacred Bones Records, New York.

Written and produced in team with Mona Mur – herself a leading 1980s protagonist – the new album features Mur’s unique electronic sounds and Manuela Ricker’s unrivalled guitar play. International media from The Guardian to Rolling Stone, from THE WIRE to Galore enthused about the “Comeback of the Year“ and insisted the artists return to the stage. So Anja Huwe resolved to present her internationally acclaimed solo album CODES in new live shows, also featuring modern interpretations of Xmal Deutschland classics. A new band lineup and unique visuals make the experience now complete. The first live show in decades as headliner of the GRAUZONEN festival in The Hague in February 2025 has written pop history already.
